This was sort of heartbreakingly sweet. I'm in love with Bill/Tom (actually working - slowly and far from steadily - on a fic about them currently), and I like how they're portrayed as just regular guys, not with one of them being a monster or an antagonizer. It's easy to lose the fact that at one point, they were just friends being friends, before all the drama.
i don't think either one of them is a monster, not in the least. i think they had their disagreement and their falling out and they are both genuinely sorry at this point, but perhaps too afraid to be the first to bury the hatchet. william once said tom was one of his best friends and i'd like to think that somewhere in his heart, they are still best friends :(
Yeah, exactly. I'm sick of these fics where it's completely partisan, and either Mike, William, or Tom is the 'bad guy'. It was clearly more complicated than that. And my tinhat can't really mesh with the still best friends thing, but when I do manage to pry off the tinhat, I can definitely see that being the truth in the situation.
