Uber long and cut for your convenience.
This one time, my friend Stef decided to get married to a guy named Patrick. He's pretty cool, so we decided that was ok. Turns out they decided to get married in this place called Yosemite about 150 miles away from home. After a bit of "discussion", it was decided that I would actually perform the wedding. So, I got ordained, and this is how it all went down:
After 2.5 hours in the car, we were happy to get out and stretch our legs...and look at Half Dome...
And tunnels...
And waterfalls...
And meadows...well, you get the idea
Amber decided she'd had enough looking and wanted to reach out and touch something...like Half Dome!
After all that fun, it was time to get down to business and practice the wedding
Very seriously
A little too seriously...
Unless of course your name is Amber
and you love taking self portraits :P
And now a break so you can all see how cute we are.
We got back to our room and met our new roomie Miriam (who is so fun by the way) and I got attacked by Max the mouse. I got scared, but Amber was outside on the phone ignoring my suffering/screeching (or at least trying to :P), so I tried to get her attention the only way I knew how
The next morning, Amber showed her appreciation for the nature outside of our hotel room
During our hike, we encountered this swift and deep river, so we decided to ford it. Lucky for us, no one lost any oxen.
But we could have almost died
I made the mistake of mentioning thesis stuff and Amber almost jumped, but luckily she decided against it
After all that, Amber got really thirsty (the coffee wasn't cutting it), so she took a drink of that refreshing waterfall...
which the baby woodpecker found to be extremely entertaining.
This guy wasn't sure about the whole affair
neither was John Muir.
We headed up to the wedding and got lots of strange looks for being so good looking
Ridiculously good looking.
Once we got to Glacier Point, we realized there were tiny ant people on top of Half Dome.
Amber could crush them like bugs!
As long as she doesn't look down
It was time for the wedding, and the mother of the bride was wearing her finest kicks
He said he was ready
so it began
There was talking
hand holding
laughing
and some kissing
and hugging...ministers need love too!
On the way to the reception, Amber got thirsty again
and contemplated climbing a tree
We also discovered why they didn't put us in the fancy hotel
During the reception KC had an itch and her hands were busy so Amber helped her out.
After dinner, they cut the cake...mmm...cake
They got a little messy
But managed to clean themselves up and get down to important business
The business of dancing!
Well, and the business of being uber-stunning
All pictures from the Yosemite adventure and Patrick and Stef's Wedding can be found
