my liners won't stay put

After trying out some different styles and fabrics for making liners I've decided I most like flannelette (just 2 layers which I sew inside-out, turn right-side-out then overstitch).  For the pattern I've just copied my disposable liners and added wings.  I've found them more comfy to wear in that they don't irritate the skin.  However, I'm having

The second biggest revelation that cloth pads gave me (the first being that disposables were responsible for my skin issues after all) was that none of my underwear fit well. If they're sliding back, your underwear's probably too loose! Can you try it with your most snug underwear to see if that helps? If that fails and you can't/don't want to buy some new underwear to try, can you make it so it fastens to a smaller width? If it starts out bunching your panties just a bit in the crotch, it may be less inclined to move to a "point of higher potential" so to speak.

You might be onto something with the fit of my underwear. I only have a few fairly new pairs - thought I tried with one of the new pairs but now I'm not so sure how much the liner moved around with those.

I did start with liners that were the same width as my underwear but as that felt like having a wadded up bit of fabric in my undies I switched to the narrower width of my disposable liners which bunches up my undies until I put them on. The narrower width fits better and is more comfortable so I feel like I have that part right now.

try changing the shape of the front. I make some of my pads so they widen in front and kinda curve around the front of my pubic bone and that helps keep them where they belong and catch the frontward bleeding too.

I don't usually wear boy-cut but have a couple of pairs of that style and some of my pantyliners will slide backward like you describe because the liners were made for a thinner crotch and the snap settings on the wings aren't far enough apart so they'd kinda pull the whole pad down..kwim?

I'm not sure having a wider front would help much. My liners are shorter than the cloth ones I've seen available for sale. They are about 16cm/6.3" long (same as the disposables). They don't really wrap around the pubic bone.

Hmmm... crotch width. When I tried the wider crotch width liners they bunched up. The ones I'm using now don't. But maybe another attempt at a width in between is worth a try.

I have found that shorter liners travel around more for me. Try one that is longer and see what happens.

Is there a suggested minimum length? I like that the short ones are really discreet and really couldn't show through even tight clothes...
