Cotton/Polyester as a core

I have some scraps from sweatpants made of 50% cotton and 50% polyester. Has anyone used material like this for inside the pad? It seems absorbent enough, and I already have a the scraps. Is it worth a shot?

Hm, well, sure you could. But I'm guessing that you wouldn't want to use it for heavy days because you'd need extra layers to make up for the lack of absorbency.

The core is really the important part of the pads, you don't want to skimp there.

If you don't mind thick pads it is certainly worth a try. I know some ladies are accustomed to thick pads and have a mental block about thin pads but if you are upcycling and don't mind a bit of thickness go for it! :)

It could work well if you put the fluffy side up and put a layer of 100% absorbent material on top of it. The poly blend will wick fluids along its own fibers, so even though it doesn't absorb a lot it will kind of act like a barrier.
