Using pads with boycut or boxer style panties?

What's the 'best' way to use cloth pads from moving around with the boycut or boxer style panties? I was thinking of adding fabric strips to the panties ala LunaPad panties, but since I havediffernt-width pads, I don't know waht's the best fabric to use, or how wide to make the opening for the pads. The boxer style panties I've got have about a 3"  ( Read more... )

Yeah, I also prefer to wear boxer briefs, but I haven't found a way to wear them with cloth pads. One idea I have is to cut a slit on either side of the gusset where the legs attach for the wings to go through, but I don't have a sewing machine to finish off the edges and suspect it would make my underwear fall apart in the wash.

I also think the fabric strips would work fine. You could make the strips fit your widest pads, and they'd still hold in narrower pads. I'd probably use satin ribbon for the material since it's soft enough that it wouldn't be irritating, and most "satin" is synthetic and wouldn't stain either.

If you do end up making something like either of these ideas, please post pictures!

If you're comfortable with the idea, try padettes (interlabial pads - they'll stay in place on their own).

Otherwise, have you tried hourglass-shaped pads? they should stay in place just because of their shape. The only thing I don't like about them is that the flow will be heaviest at their thinnest part so you'll need to make them in a way that channels the moisture along the pad with something very absorbant in the middle and probably a waterproof layer at the bottom.

Good luck! And have fun sewing :)
