Laminated Cotton

Apr 03, 2013 16:39

Hi everyone,
I have some laminated cotton at home, but no PUL. I was wondering if it is ok to use laminated cotton for cloth pads. If anybody has done so, I would love to hear how it worked!
Thanks,
Trula

It depends if the fabric can be machine washed. If it is, then go for it, but do not put them in the dryer. PUL is becoming more widely available. I get mine from naturesfabrics.

When I was making my starting set, I couldn't find PUL in stores near me so I wound up re-using a plastic lined cotton baby changing table cover cloth for my heavy flow pads that I felt like I needed the plastic with. What dalyax said is correct, anything like that will work, but you cannot heat-dry it at all or the plastic lining will shrivel up and warp the pad. I have had success with mine just on a no-heat tumble dry low setting.
