Chasing the White Rabbit: WIP Update

Jun 10, 2011 14:29

So…I realise I’ve fallen off the face of the Earth these past few weeks - but here I am again, popping up to say Hello World! I’m alive!

I also realise that for a blog that’s meant to document my writing journey, it’s woefully lacking in any mention of what I’m working on.

And the reason for this is…well, to be honest, I’m still wrestling that ( Read more... )

*Gazes at the lily pad world* Gorgeous :) I'm in love with the premise of the world (I'm a sucker for plausible sci-fi fantasy meshes.)I hope you keep wrestling the chimera so that I can read your story :)

Right now, I'm nurturing a seedling of an idea about a boy who discovers creatures that can only dwell in mirrors. I'm also working on continuing a story that I started last year because I'm getting better idea of what the world is like too :) My semester break just started so I've been trying to get back into writing *evil uni. I think images can be really inspirational to keep people going.

Isn't it gorgeous? The first time I saw Callebaut's Lilypad, I printed the pictures up and stuck it on my wall for months! Lol

And thank you so much for saying that about my WIPs premise!! Honestly, you wouldn't even believe the mood swings I had after I put up this post.

5 minutes after clicking post button: *satisfied* Now people know what it's about I have no excuse not to finish it.

1 hour after clicking post button: *tears hair out* WHAT HAVE I DONE! WHAT IS THAT PREMISE! OMG I AM SOOOO DUUUUUUMB!

...Obviously I have some self-confidence issues to work out.

Your idea about the boy with the mirror-creatures sounds awesome!! It reminds me of Caroll's Through the Looking Glass, and Gaiman's Coraline, and for some reason, even Medusa and the Basilisk!

Ditto the self confidence issues - I think all writers wrestle with them :) I still have to read Coraline (but I have watched the film adaptation.)

Your story sounds FANTASTIC! I'm sort of writing a sci-fi + fantasy kinda story too. XD.

I love those lily pads and your story sounds FABULOUS.

Thank you thank you thank you so much!!

I was just saying to Glaz (animewave) that I felt so dumb after posting this. I was all: OMG that's the dumbest premise ever / how would it even work, and was generally being really down on myself.

So to have people say that they like the premise and look forward to the story...seriously, there are no words to how much that lifted me up :D

Also, now I want to read your story! What is it about? Can we expect to see some teasers on your blog soon? *hinthint* :DDD

Yaaay, you're back!

Love the story ideas--it's just my kind of story! I hope you'll keep posting about it. Stravisnky's Firebird changed me, too, and I will hands down read anything that is even partially inspired by it!

Aww that is so sweet! Thanks Meg, that makes me want to finish my book PRONTO!

You already know this (because I've been a right loony on your site), but CONGRATS ON EVERYTHING!!!
