Drawing again

After a hiatus of, wow, 9 months, I made the time and space to draw something again last night. I visited the Fine Arts Museum yesterday to see the Waterhouse collection, I guess I was inspired when I got home...

This is the result, took me about 1h30m.

And thank you for the compliment :) I wasn't always this good at shading, it just comes with practice. The first key step was to stop outlining everything, after that the rest gets easier.

I've started a painting/drawing workshop with live model on Wednesday mornings. So far, I have a small painting of a spectacularly flat-chested woman's torso. :)

The paintings for the nieces' Christmas gifts came out quite well. I have two more canvases sketched as gifts for Caroline's kids. And several more canvases ready for me to tackle once those are done. Shame I don't have a camera to take any snaps of them. Hopefully you'll see them one of these days.
