cities like dc have curfews for underage kids because they dont want them out late breaking the law...getting drunk, shooting each other, etc. (you may have noticed that after all those kids got iced in mount pleasant last week, they have been beefin up the curfew facTORE.) there is no real REASON for kids to be wandering around at 3 in the morning... you'd be hard pressed to find a 16 year old moonlighting at an exxon station so laws like these antagonize nobody but the kids (who are too young to vote anyway). and its assumed that when they come of age they will be able to weigh the pros and cons of a curfew law more objectively. not that i enjoyed curfews back when they affected me (BOOYAH)
