i was in a class a few days ago, and the teacher had us do something he called "flying warrior." i'd never done it before, but i absolutely loved it! looking online, i can't find any images or references to this pose, which is quite satisfying to be honest

You should...but some very simple push up handles, (the static non-fancy ones that are quite portable) in order to be a bit more creative with certain poses. That way, you can use the extra leverage to stretch a bit more at times...etc. Also, when push-ups are done with handles, one can get a much better stretch...etc.
