In which I rant about Final Fantasy's VII-X
The latest installment to my 'Started but haven't finished yet' list is Final Fantasy IX. I can't really claim to have a long standing history with the Final Fantasy game series, since the only installments in it I've played to date are VII, VIII, IX and X, but I think IX is by far the best one I've played so far with VII and X tying for second place. VIII is not even on the map, I hate hate HATE!!!!!!! that stupid game so very very very much. Blah.
So, of course I haven't actually beaten any of these games yet, but with VII and VIII I'm on the last disk (being on the area before the final Sepheroth battle on VII), X I'm somewhere near the end-ish, and IX I only just started about four days ago. I'm technically on the second disk for IX, I think. I'm not 100% sure because it's only $10 to download it on the PS3, as opposed to the $35 it would have cost me to buy the hard copy. I still want the hard copy though :( I'm starting it over though, because as I was playing through the Gizamaluke Grotto the other day, I realized that not only was I horribly under-leveled (to much story progression, not enough grinding), but I hadn't been using 'Steal' nearly enough and didn't have near the items and accessories I needed to make the gamer easier for myself. This is actually a first for me because I'm usually really bad about overgrinding. Realizing that I hadn't been grinding enough actually sent me into a small panic attack. Unfortunately for me, I've gotten myself stuck in a place where I can't really get out without fighting the boss, who has already kicked my ass twice and only took about thirty seconds to do it each time. (That's how underleveled I am. I checked Gamefaqs-it's not cheating if you only read up to where you are at the current time to see if you're missing something- and I'm supposed to be at least level 14-16 by now, and I'm barely level 9 with my strongest character. I could probably still beat the boss, but right now, I don't have the patience. So...I'm going to play the whole game over again. Make sense? Somehow, I don't think it does to anyone other than me- my brother gave me a WTF look when I told him I was re-doing the game, but thankfully, he just shrugged and told me I wasn't that far into the game anyway, so it was fine- but oh well. I want that ice staff.) I also need to finish X. Don't know about VII. I have to get myself re-hyped about fighting Sepheroth, since that battle has me a little bit intimidated, and I'd have to re-familiarize myself with the controls, since it uses the ATP system, and I never set it to 'wait' and of course every FF game's controls are different. I already know how X ends (well, to be honest, I already know how all of them except IX ends...some how, the ending of IX still remains unspoiled for me...which is amazing, considering my brother and several of my friends have already played it and they can never keep endings to themselves.)but I'm still fuzzy on the details of how they get to that point, so I'm still a little anxious to play through it. and VIII..........
I fucking hate VIII.
I'll probably never continue that game, and if I do, I'll probably end up back on here bitching about it ^_^; I HATE THAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Leon, you are SO much cooler in Kingdom Hearts...which is really sad, because you barely had a personality to speak of in Kingdom Hearts. HOW CAN YOU BE COOLER IN A GAME WHERE YOU'RE A SIDE CHARACTER THAN IN A GAME ALL ABOUT YOU?! HOW!!!!????!?!?!?

I guess in the same way they kind of screwed up Auron's character in Kingdom Hearts II. Such as waste.
Ok, I'm getting WAY to serious about this now, so I'm going to go. I just want to say, a line up of the most badass characters per game (In my opinion) goes something like this:
FF VII:
Cid and
Reno (I do not count all the spin offs and prequels, only the original game, simply because I haven't played any of the others. I heard DoC wasn't that good, anyway.)
FF VIII:
That's right: VIII HAS NO GOOD CHARACTERS! PERIOD! Debate me on this. I dare you.
FF IX:
VIVI WILL POWN YOU ALL!!! Just saying. When he joins your party, every one else is doing 48 damage tops, and he casts fire spells for 108 damage and can give another character the ability to USE A FIERY SWORD OF DEATH!!! He's also a bundle of squishy, lovey adorable adorableness AND he gets character development. He is probably my favorite video game character to date. <3 <3 <3 *fangirls*
FF X:
Yeah, like you didn't see this one coming. Tidus is ok, and his story is good, but Auron is just more badass as a character.
SO why did I do this list? No reason, I'm bored, and Durarara isn't panning out like I had hoped. Then again, I'm only on episode 9. :-/ I've got my fingers crossed for it.
AND I WANT TO RE-START MY GAME DAMNIT BUT MY BROTHER IS SICK!!!! *flails in frustration*
