Beautiful! I love this moment captured so early on. You capture the shyness and the tentativeness so well, and their voices are so spot on! I'd love to see more scenes of this, if you ever choose to write a number of small vignettes of their friendship/budding relationship/attraction.

DUDE I have like, four in the pipeline. I'm just in the process of making up a lot of headcanon because we don't see enough of these two :(

Don't even get me started...

I'm already wondering if I will have to completely rewrite them for series 2. Looking forward to more from you!

I love the last few lines, though the whole thing's wonderfully built. Thanks for sharing this piece with us. I hadn't read any fanfiction in over a year after a period of reading some every day and you brought back the spark :)

Aw, this is a lovely little view of them in the beginning. I like Sybil being so uneasy about entering his space, but acknowledging its sort of her (her father's) space, too. And I like her being curious about why Branson supports women's rights. Beautiful.

Thank you :) Yes, I was trying to do an (admittedly clumsy) metaphor for empire, considering the time period, as well as Branson being (arguably) a colonial subject, and the unequal power relationship between the two...

AKA I overthink things. Glad you enjoyed it!
