HP Lovecraft liked to write of horrors from the beyond, describing them with terms such as "non-euclidian geometry" or "colors outside the visible spectrum". While these descriptions were meant to invoke a sense of terror and the unknowable, we actually come across colors outside the "visible spectrum" in our everyday lives and most people don't

This is very interesting, and the image of blue, green and red spectral peaks explains Daltonism very nicely.

A friend and I have just had an interesting experience with artificial light: we sent the "white" light from a mobile phone camera to reflect off a CD, and it beautifully dissolved into the RGB colours.
