My mother died early this morning. I got a call from my sister last night at about 8pm to say Mum's condition had deteriorated. She was meant to be having an operation to have a stent fitted on Friday, but it was cancelled. I guess the doctors couldn't guarantee she would survive the surgery. I'm so sorry to hear that! At least you had the chance to see her again before she went.

Thank you! I am glad I got to see her again, although she didn't look like my mother at all. I think eventually I will imagine her as she was when she was younger and healthy, but at the moment all I can see in my mind is an old, frail, scared lady. :'(
