Name (and age if applicable): ♥♪!?. Calls himself Geno. Several hundred years old.
Series: Super Mario RPG
Occupation (if applicable): Guardian of the Star Road. While on this planet, he works as a DJ at Club Sugar, as well as at the local radio station.
Personality: Geno is mostly serious business. He doesn't show much emotion outright, but this isn't to say that he is cold or lacking in compassion. He has a flare for the heroic and enjoys making entrances and saving the day. In many ways, he's otherworldly, somewhat ignorant of societal norms and offering unusually objective points of view. He tells it like it is when he has to, so he's your go-to guy for objective advice.
Whenever taking on a humanized or gijinka form, his emotions and hormones are slightly unstable, simply because as a star or a possessed doll he isn't used to them. He's generally uncomfortable with human feelings, so he avoids being human except when he really wants to fit in (or is hopeful for a relationship - romantic or otherwise). He is somewhat gender neutral due to his lack of experience with human companionship, but in his human form that is slowly changing.
Oddly enough, while Geno has an air of otherworldly wisdom, he also carries with him a rather smug attitude that befits a rebellious teenager. He loves being right. He loves calling people out. And he loves being the one loud person standing up against some sort of enemy. Whenever he's wrong, he doesn't like to admit it. Conceding...just doesn't feel right to him, despite the fact that when he's right he likes to rub it in peoples' faces as much as possible.
Sometimes Geno can be...a bit of a smartass, but it isn't for a lack of intelligence.
Lastly, Geno has a strong sense of loyalty to the Star Road, to his allies, and to anyone he becomes friends with.
Backstory: Geno is a star, and a guardian of the Star Road, the celestial harbringer of granted wishes. Like all stars, ♥♪!? started out as a luma. He was born long before Rosalina became the caretaker of the lumas, so he spent his early years following his mother, a beautiful blue shooting star. Eventually, she managed to outfly him, leaving a sad little luma all alone in space.
In time, his loneliness turned into strength, and he became a powerful star. He achieved the rank of Star Guardian, one of the caretakers of the Star Road. He was completely devoted to the Star Road and knew nothing else except when Princess Rosalina's Comet Observatory passed by. He met with Rosalina a number of times and he grew to admire her devotion to the lumas. He understood what it was like for them to be all alone, and the idea that someone could show them such compassion warmed his little star heart. Life continued that way for hundreds of years.
When the Smithy Gang destroyed the Star Road years ago, he came to this planet in search of its missing pieces, so that it could be restored. After taking the form of a wooden doll, he fought alongside Mario, Prince Mallow, Princess Peach, and even the notorious Bowser to return the Star Road to its former glory and defeat the evil Smithy. This allowed wishes to be granted again.
After returning to the Star Road, however, Geno felt a sense of emptiness and loneliness and longed to return to this world. Considering the nature of the Star Road, it wasn't difficult for this wish to be granted and he again returned - promising to go back to the Star Road whenever he was needed there. After returning to his wooden body, he relocated to Diamond City. There, he sort of rediscovered a love for music that had blossomed during his interactions with Toadofsky. Before he knew it, music became his career. By coincidence, he ended up filling in for an injured DJ at Club Sugar, and at that point his career took off. He became the host of a weeknightly remix radio show and is Club Sugar's featured DJ on Saturday Nights.
What brings this person to Diamond City?: It's a highly populated city with plenty of opportunities and many different kinds of people, so as someone with a desire to meet people and have new experiences, it just made sense for him to move there. Also, he has a soft spot for dancing cats and dogs.
Misc. Notes:
-Geno has a strange addiction to Star Bits. As a luma, they were his favorite food and he never quite weaned off them. To him, eating them is like eating the most delicious candy ever. He has boxes and boxes of them stored throughout his apartment.
-Speaking of apartment, Geno lives in a large comfortable apartment smack dab in the middle of the city. He's quite happy there, although his neighbors fight way too damn much.
-Geno really enjoys crappy 80's-90's cartoon shows, particularly those starring some kind of heroic protagonist.
-The geno doll that ♥♪!? inhabits is owned by a mushroom boy named Gaz. He is Geno's biggest fan and visits occasionally.
-As ♥♪!?, Geno has met Rosalina a number of times and admires her greatly. As a human, he will develop feelings for her if she chooses to move to Diamond City. Just sort of a note to any prospective Rosalina-muns out there. :D I'd really like to see Geno/Rosalina happen. ♥
