The Neverending Battle

Jun 18, 2004 00:42

The battle for our homes, streets, towns and cities is fought daily by men and women who hear the word "pigs" screamed at them whenever they drive past. Why such scorn for the people who do the job others would turn a blind eye to? Why such dislike for people whose shoes we couldn't even begin to fill? You ask who I speak about ( Read more... )

True, you bring up good points and they're are alot of good men and women who serve in local law enforcement agencies. But also remember not all of the police have honor. Alot of them are people who say got picked on as a kid in school and now that they have a position of authority, abuse it and act like total asses and are deserving of the title of pig, po-po, etc. Just because a man/woman wears a uniform, doesn't position them under the light of God. But non-the-less you should still have and conduct yourself with a sense of respect towards law enforcement officers.

Ahhh, good point brought up that I missed in my crusade. Just because you wear a uniform does not give you the authority to abuse said power given to you by the Commonwealth/State. Respect is, like many things, give and take.

Thanks again for makin' a good point man, sometimes I miss this stuff.

Can someone say the word "Jealousy?" The illegal comment was made to wards my exhaust for my car which originally had no catalytic converters, thus on the books as "illegally modified exhaust". Also, the officer who pulled me over, officer Baradino, is notorious for being a strait up jackass, even among the majority of the Peabody Police and Peabody Fire Dept. If you'd like, I can give names of cops and firemen from Peabody specifically who don't like him (Baradino). Again, as Nick (Ollie) agrees with me, just because you wear a uniform, doesn't make you deserving of gratitude; just look at the issues the Air Force is having with Cadets raping fellow female students. One group of men who do wear uniforms who I have to say are more deserving of gratitude are firemen. I'd go into why, but i'm on my way out for a Father's Day dinner, and its pretty obvious why.

Haha, I love Peabody and Danvers cops. I know both from just workin' at Dunkin' Donuts and Friday's. Cool guys.

My only complaint w/ the cops around here is that they can't find my damned house. Good to know that if I'm in trouble, they won't be able to find me. Meh.

Those are the sheriffs, though. The local police in my town (I just moved up the street into a different district) are actually a great bunch of guys. We had one stop by and help us get a friend's car out of a ditch at 3 in the morning, haha. And my brother knows them all really well because they alternate shifts at his workplace for parties just in case Uncle Jim has a little too much alcohol at Betty's wedding or what have you. One went so far as to open a cardoor for my brother so he could put the luauauaua's severed head on someone's seat because he is a jack-ass. :D ( ... )

Yay, positive comment! Gotta love the pig head. Cops're humans too, just like us. Even the sick sense of humor kind!
