Doesn't all of that sound familiar.

I've found it impossible to understand how someone can see a problem, admit it exists, and yet not have the ability to enact some sort of control over that problem. I've lived my life controlling myself, my actions, my emotions.

How do you deal when the person you love fully admits to having problems that she believes she can't control? I have no idea. I'll let you know when I figure it out.

All I can say is: be there, and be strong. Fighting will only force her to dig in.

More clarification.

The moral of the story is you can't fight your way through this. Accept that her life is her decision and walk away. If she realizes the loss and subsequently makes the necessary changes then great. If not, she's not worth your pain. You have to realize that you have no power over her or her situation and therefore getting angry only sours your life.

And I didn't mean to intimate that she's a bitch and doesn't want to change - sometimes an impetus is required. Part of being human is the inability to truly see any situation in which you are involved from the third-person perspective.

Speaking of getting lives, do you have one? I didn't see you write anything worth reading with that pile of shit that fell out of your mouth in your post. It was pretty loud with the caps lock on, too. I so had to cover both my eyes, and my ears just to read it. So how great do you consider your life to be? You read comments and entries in Nick's journal, and then when you see an opportunity to bash/rant, you do so by overusing the abused line "Get a life?" I believe you have to find something better to do with your time. And I can tell that you're a broad or a fag just by the comment you made. You obviously don't have balls to sign your anonymous posting.

Listen, definately care for your friends, but you can't fix people, they have to fix their problems by themselves. Drinking and driving is not a good thing, and suicide is a long term solution to a short term problem... believe me, I know.
