I worry about the stupidest things sometimes.

Most people worry about feeling their age. I worry about why I don't feel my age, and why I find myself so far removed from other people my own age (whatever the fuck that means).

Totally know what you're feeling. At my age I -think- I should be doing certain things. Instead, I feel like a 30-something year old with kids running around.

And re: age, it's not that I hate how old I am, it's a weird existential disconnect between my age and how old I feel. Hard to explain in a short response. :)

No, I realised that's what you meant. What I meant was that I have no issue with how old I am, but I definitely feel removed from what most people seem to expect someone my age's life to be like...if that makes sense.

I know what you mean, Ben. Aside from a select group, I'm usually most comfortable with people younger than I am. We see the world in similar ways. Most folks ideas of "growing up" would amount to soul death for me.

Sometimes, I wish I could be that normal, married 40-something dude, with 2.1 kids, mortgaged to the eyeballs, etc. But mostly, no.
