In funny to see the impact of Cameron's inability to have a wholesome relationship with a woman.

Hurt Locker totally deserves to win over Avatar, though. I have no idea what else is up there, but I would say An Education even deserves to win over Avatar.

Avatar was really, really, really visually impressive, but the story was still bad. I would pick An Education over Avatar.

Instant runoff voting and the like only work well under the premise that most people will act/vote in good faith. But considering that it reduces some other problems caused by "strategic voting" on single-ballot things, I'd say it's a good tradeoff. And you have to have a pretty good sized chunk voting in bad faith to have much effect.

I'm sure there's some sound mathematical reason why they do it, but I had to question it anyway.

The best picture category is really comparing apples and oranges anyway.
