Hello out there...does anyone have any experience commuting to Waltham from Somerville?

I'm pursuing what appears to be an awesome job opportunity out there and I'm trying to figure out how bad the commute is going to be :o)

I used to commute from Davis Square to an office right next to Brandeis. If I drove, it took about 30-40 minutes (I'd take Route 2 to 95 South to 20 West, I think?). But there's also the commuter rail from Porter Square, there's a couple stops in Waltham.

thanks phil! this job is slightly closer i think...it's right off the trapelo road exit on 128...

yuck highway, but probably manageable...

This is the commute I made for four years to Netegrity (Winter St. exit). I also did rt 2 to 128. It only took me 20 minutes, but I was commuting at off hours (hi, btw)

hello! you were the first person i thought of when i thought of this commute :o)

i figured it would be manageable, but i was just curious about actual drive times :o)

i'm thinking 30-40 minutes...which is fine...it's about the same as it takes to go to the LMA :o)

I went from Medford/Somerville to Bedford (which is north of 128, north of Waltham). It depends on where in Waltham it is, if it's near 128, or of it's more closer to Belmont etc. etc............

I should just scroll down. Best bet for you would be to hit up Rt 2, to 95 South to Trapelo Road. Should be a piece of cake, the 95 Rt 2 interchange sucks, but once your on 95 it's only 1 or 2 exits so you should be there just fine. If you went local roads, it would take a lot longer.

yeah that's the directions mapquest gave me :o)

i think it should be ok...as long as it's around 30 minutes w/rush hour i'm ok with it :o)

it takes that long to get to the LMA too :o)

i've commuted from cambridge to wakefield... cambridge to maynard (miserable)... and even now my commute is about 40-45 minutes... so somerville to waltham aint nuttin... lol.
