I have been offered a couple of positions making about half of what I was but if I take one of those, I will lose the house anyway because I wouldn't be able to afford the ( Read more... )

That's terrible :( Can you take 1 of the lower paying jobs and then get something part time to supplement it until more jobs become available? Maybe you can borrow money from family?

sorry to hear this too. ::Hugs::

kathy's advice is good. some places give OT as well. also maybe cut out other things so you can handle your mortgage like cable or phone.

It will get better!

And maybe find a roommate...or two? I don't know how big your house is, or what the mortgage is and I know it might be hard to share living quarters, but having a person or persons to share the expenses might help you keep your head above water.

Damn, that sucks. I wish I had some other suggestions, but the ones that have been made seem good. I really hope you can figure something out. That's a scary situation, and I'm sorry to hear that you're in it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I could give you the magic answer that will fix the problem, but I don't have it. You just have to weigh your options (like the ones mentioned above) and go with the one that makes most sense for you.

It's happening to so many people I know and I feel terrible! My boyfriend was laid off a few weeks ago and my neighbor was laid off just this week.

It pisses me off that economically responsible people are suffering because banks were lending money to people who couldn't afford to pay it back.

It's a tough time, but I'm sure you will get through it. It may be tough for a little while longer, but I believe good things will come out of this for you.
