Artist of the Month: Pearl Jam
- The band formed from the ashes of Mother Love Bone (Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament were members of that band)
- Eddie Vedder received a tape of Gossard and Ament's music; wrote lyrics, creating "Alive" and "Once"
- The band's first name was Mookie Blaylock; Ten named for the NBA player's jersey number
- Ten, released in 1991, contained songs of social commentary, such as "Jeremy" and "Even Flow"
- Initially labeled as hijackers of the grunge sound, Pearl Jam was very popular

This was my first show of the year. At the peak, I had about ten people in the studio. I'm really excited about this year and this was a solid group of songs to begin the craziness. I will be playing a lot of the new They Might Be Giants record. Other things I enjoyed: the songs from Florez and "Weird Al" Yankovic, and one of my absolute favorite songs of all time, "There She Goes." Tune in next week after a full week of shows! It's going to be good stuff.
[I've gone back and edited the titles to count the shows in a continuous processsion.]
