so Dave suggested playing Rage today. We sifted through cards and each built a deck, and went at it. I had a five-member, low-renown lupus pack (Questor Tree-talker and Spotlight were my combat characters, with Old Storm-Chaser and a couple other little wolves). Dave went for an all-Wendigo deck (Blood-on-the-Wind, the Kachina twins, and Dreams-of-Wonder).
I had a big ol' Sept deck - something like 60 cards. Dave had about 40 - but about halfway through the game, he realized that he hadn't thrown in any Gifts. We played a few more turns, then he quit 'cos he had to go home and adding to his deck and trimming it down and stuff would've taken a while. I figured we'd play a game and I'd trim a bunch of the fat from my deck. Now, I'm thinking a completely different deck is in order. I've got some fond memories of Kailindo decks, and Roofwalker (Glass Walker) put the idea of an anti-vampire deck in my head - Roofwalker, some Striders, and maybe Virus-to-Wyrm.
And, of course, there's always the Wyrm. Plenty of interesting options there. Unfortunately, now that the gEngine is down, I'm limited to the cards I actually own, which is a decent amount, but lacking in all sorts of useful stuff that I had access to when playing online. Ah, well.
Anyhow, I'm now perusing the revised Rage rules online, and seeing what changes were made to the cards I do own, and what rules changes have been made since I last played on the gatling Engine. hopefully this little Rage kick will become somewhat regular. I've missed that game.
