Scion - Rada Campaign - Guest Appearance 2-5

Well, part one of our master plan has been accomplished. We found and killed the Oculapede (that's what Storm named the giant centipede with human eyes). Now we just need to take its eyes back to the portal and perform the ritual to seal it up tight. In other words, this is where things really start to get interesting...

You know, speaking of things getting interesting, we somehow ended up chatting about turn-ons on our way into the caves that held the portal. I'm not really sure how we got onto the topic, but I know it had something to do with me talking about Adam. Hmmm. Echo wouldn't be happy to hear me say that, would she? Anyway, things got a little weird even by my standards when the guys started talking, so I kinda moved closer to Carina and we commiserated a little until Jacob became annoyed and got everyone back on task.

Speaking of which, I had to have a discussion with Jacob about his cool points. See, he gets cool points for cool things he does (like being totally metal) and loses them for all the lame things he does. I had to warn him that he was losing a bunch of points for one thing or another, but fortunately his total was up a quite bit due to his heavy metal armor. As of this writing, he's got 32 point, but a good portion of those are permanent points that he gets because he's doing Hel.

Ummm…so anyway, plenty of centipedes had been killed by the khaibit traps Sam and Carina left, and we eliminated the few centipedes that were still milling around the entrance to Crom Cruach itself. Carina made good use of her MPK's (Meow-Pounce-Kills) to tear the centipedes to shreds. ^_^

Then we headed in. Which was totally gross 'cause of the thick curtain of mucus we had to go through. But Sam cheated. He just waited for Storm to go through and then teleported himself through. If it weren't for the fact that I can just clean myself off instantly with a brief expression of my divine power, I'd have been a little miffed at the smug expression he was wearing when he appeared next to us.

Of course, I barely had time to smirk at Sam. As we stood there with the cavernous expanses of Crom Cruach's decaying realm stretching before us, Cesar shouted, "Attention 'pedes! We are her to f**k up your sh*t!" When that didn't bring a horde of titanspawn crashing down on our head's Jacob called upon the powers of magic to trace the threads of fate connecting us to the Oculapede and led us straight him. fortunately, the Oculapede wasn't too deep into the realm, though we did pass by a mysterious side passage from which we could hear some odd humming.

Also, along the way we had to fly or climb down a tight shaft in the caves. I sprouted by bat wings to make the trip a bit easier, which, much to my pleasure, elicited appreciative noises from Carina, Cesar, Storm and even Jacob! ^_^ Apparently Jacob's got a thing for bat-winged girls, but then again, who doesn't?

Anyway, we eventually emerged in a vast chamber filled with a small lake of sickly green mucus. In the center of the lake was an island bearing a broad pedestal of stone upon which sat the Oculapede. He was attended by several twisted, humanoid things made of swarms of writhing centipedes, and a few mammoth centipedes lurked in the lake of mucus, waiting to lurch forward and consume us.

Yeah, as if.

So, there was a big fight. Sam stood on the shore, peppering the bugs with precision shots while his Kitty Kat pounced from one big centipede to the next, tearing them apart one-by-one. Helena skated onto the lake on a path of pure ice and froze the Oculapede's blood (er…ichor?), while Jacob and Storm flew in and attacked it directly. I gotta tell ya, Storm was a sight to behold in this fight as he darted around the beast, skewering it repeatedly with might thrusts of his javelin!

Meanwhile, Cesar and I decided to go take care of the centipede-men. We flew in a perfect duet over the lake of mucus, me with my bat wings and Cesar with his hummingbird wings, and both of us burning with the intensity of the sun itself. Once we neared the centipede-men, Cesar drew them to us using his sun-mastery to create a gravitational pull. Unable to escape, the centipedes were incinerated by our combined sunfire in a matter of moment.

And then Storm was swallowed whole by the Oculapede! He disappeared down its cavernous maw and I screamed his name. I know what's it's like to be swallowed whole by horrible monsters, and I wouldn't wish the experience on anyone else. But before I could really react, Storm tore his own way out with a blast of lightning and a fearsome roar. The Oculapede fell in pieces around him. Gods, it was badass!

So I changed into my goth cheerleader outfits and did an aerial cheer for everyone. And Carina joined me, 'cause she's cool like that. ^_^

So now we're heading back to the entrance, where we hope to seal it while Crom Cruahc's forces try to stop us. At least, that's how it usually goes, and trust me, I have lots of experience with this kinda thing. Wish us luck!
