I went from "HATE" to back in "LIKE" with Amazon's Service.
I have been using/shopping Amazon since 1999. I bought my stereo back then, (buying a stereo in 1999 online was still sorta brave.) I always knew that online shopping was our future. (I hate Malls with a passion.)
Skip to 2010. Shopping a friends (guess who:) Wedding Registry, and from this experience I have to say... "all I got to say with how far this company has come.. the registry system is for shit, they really need to tackle this department-- it could be sooo much better, so much more user friendly than it is in it's current state."
My issue was I ordered from the bride and grooms choices, I found an item and then it showed the "customer's who get this get that".. I eat this shite up with a spoon, I'm all like "hell ya they need that too!!" I go with it. Yay! How cool. Purchase, select 'hidden wedding address option shipping' and viola. Yay! shopping over and I am pleased.
One annoying thing was one gift was from a 'seller'not Amazon, so Amazon's flys out, ok they will still like in 2 pieces, no biggie. :) Days go by.. I get an email saying the main one shipped. Cool. Then immediately after, I get a email saying you have been fully refunded, we no longer carry that item. WTF, it took days to figure that out.. ggrrr. So now no gift and a wacked 2nd smaller gift that matched with 'other' gift is on the way, lame.. I am pissed. So I call Amazon, find out Amazon now carries that item but they will not ship it to the Registry address because they did not select this particular # one, I say LOOK it's the same brand, everything, just not a reseller.. NOPE no can do.
Fine.. I say cancel 2nd gift as it make no sense as I will now pick out a new registry item, (you should be able to buy an item and send to registry person even if hidden, their reasoning was it is hidden address even C.S. cannot see it, so they could not help me?? )
So fine, I say.. lame system, but it is what it is, I still 'mostly' blame the 'seller' for screwing up the first item and not Amazon so I happily make a new purchase. Yay! I even select gift wrap this time, something I missed the first time. Life is well.
Then, Item is delayed. grrr.. Missing wedding date. That's ok it happens..
Next: I get an email yesterday that two attempts were made and now they will send back to Amazon and refund my purchase in FULL?? What??! NO--I don't want a refund- I want to give gift!! -Sorry kids.
Also, WHY, are they sending this info to me, and not the registry owner.. so they can hold it, redeliever or something?!!? Macy's even does that. Shit in 1996 when I was married JC Penny had registry's contact info down. haha! Anyways..
-- OMG -- I never had such bad luck/hard time trying to GIVE a gift I say. Please ship it back to the newlyweds. Not their policy. THey will refund why am I worried. (kidding me?)
Well long story short, it's ME on the phone.. so... all I'll say is after much more discussion with C.S. on this topic they ARE resending the gift to the newlyweds!
So, just be aware if ordering 'seller' selection choices (as sellers are flaky) and I really hope they update the registry to connect with the owner to make their choices on receiving their registry gifts rather than just sending back and REFUNDING the gift giver..??? That is crazy that they would allow that business to be lost like that, amazing actually.
Ok fixed./ Back in 'LIKE' with Amazon but skeptical.
