Demand your anime!

I second that motion big guy. Quality stuff put out by quality people. ADV truly has some great folks and they know how to put together some great things.

As Monica Rial says at the beginning of almost ever ADV DVD these days: "Log on and Demand Your Anime -- Anime Network!"

Actually, you can go to theanimenetwork.com and enter your ZIP code on the front page, and you'll be sent automatically to a form that has your city/state/ZIP and cable company filled out. All you need to do is fill in the rest of the blanks, and they'll do the rest.

That didnt work with several of the zip codes around here... it didnt give comcast as a valid cable company... it was like... the dish network and some other satellite providers, no cable.

Hmmm. That is kinda weird. I've done it once before with Cox Cable already filled out and stuff, and I sent in a request several months ago. Cox even sent me a reply saying that right now it's not in the cards for Cox yet.

I remember having to do this for Game Show Network back in the mid '90s when they actually did show game shows properly. It took about 6 years for Cox Cable to FINALLY get GSN, though. I'm sure with technology always evolving and with digital cable acccessible to more homes than ever before, The Anime Network will get on cable systems faster than it might have about 10 years ago.

The good news for you is that your provider is Comcast, which already has The Anime Network in Richmond proper. They just need to get it on the other surrounding areas. You seem to be more likely to get it at your place than we do down here, despite our high Asian and Filipino population. Hmmm.

We have it, kinda... We have "Comcast OnDemand" which is a channel that has select channels' shows. Anime Network is one of them. So at any given time there are 30 or so episodes of some of their shows that you can watch, but I would much rather have a channel dedicated to it, always running, instead of it being a tivo-esque option. When it comes to TV, I enjoy just tuning in and watching.

On a side note, I want to hurt whoever thought of giving the main characters of Abenobashi deep southern accents. Did we forget they are Japanese? The only justification I can think of is someone rationalizing it with "But they live in southern japan".

Abenobashi is awesome though. Definitely on my list of Animes to get the DVD for, and watch SUBBED.

yeah i was watching the DVDs and i turned english subs on and it was creepy seeing Arumi with that voice. I cried and promptly fiddled with my PS2 controller till normalcy returned.

It could've been ok with out the hokey-ness.

Hmph, the misguided souls of those that prefer their anime in Japanese with subtitles...

I guess nobody bothers to read the liner notes the first DVD has that explains why Sasshi and Arumi have Texas accents.... (sigh)
