VNV Nation at In the Venue last Friday. Great show. The new album Automatic is good (good but not excellent). Solid VNV fare. Nothing jumps out as head-and-shoulders above the rest. If you like VNV, you'll like it. If you don't, you won't ( Read more... )

Doh! I am sure they'll be back in a few years. Hopefully the same can be said of TMBG so I can see them next time.

I struggle with VNV Nation. I really like the music, but for some reason I don't care for the lead's voice. :/ That's a difficult thing to overlook in their songs.

I hear ya. It's not for everybody. I figure most people have an opinion already on VNV one way or another and converts are unlikely. I find it catchy. Sometimes I am baffled why a person likes certain things and not others, for no explainable reason. What is the root of preference? I can already see my son doesn't like green beans. Where does that even come from? Hm that was a bit of a detour. I do try to say I like something or don't like it rather than implying people who disagree with my taste are somehow wrong.
