The only upside to the soreness is that at least you *know* you're sick. I hate being in-between sick, where I feel sort of off, but don't feel bad enough to crawl back into bed. (I know, right now you'd trade it in a heart beat).
I hope you feel better soon. Keep up with the rest & the fluids.

Nah, I also prefer being more all-out sick than semi-bad in-between sick. The battle-plan for "sick" is pretty straightforward. What I really hate is what usually gets me: a head cold where I want to chop my head off, low to no fever, low energy but otherwise feeling okay which still makes me miss work because I can't concentrate. And that's actually more miserable for me than this fever+cough thing (except that I know this cough will drag on and on). My nose is still relatively clear and my sinuses are behaving.
It's like I skipped the head cold and jumped right into the secondary chest infection.

And there's all this nice beer in my fridge taunting me, too. I gotta get well so I can fight back and teach 'em a lesson! ;)
