i just watched the entire season of sex rehab on VH1 (online) and i think it is progress for showing the real impact that addiction can have on people's lives and the struggles people go through. my own life experiences tell me that anything can become an addiction - from substances to process addictions. this isn't a judgement about porn or various substances, its just something that some people have a genetic predisposition for. i'm not interested in getting into a debate with anyone who adamantly feels otherwise. i think science is catching up to better understanding of what happens in the brain when a person becomes addicted. i can have an occasional drink, i really could care less about having one or not having one - that doesn't mean i don't believe that someone *else* might be an alcoholic (its up to them to diagnose that for themselves) same with drugs or porn. this isn't a moral stance about the virtues or evils of alcohol, drugs, or porn.

I can't talk about this right now, im too busy reeling at all the children I know that I went to church with that were sexually abused by their parents or church leaders.

that came off more lame that I wanted, but really I just found out that there hasn't been an aspect of my church life now that is not tainted by knowing there were predators all over my Church.I won't touch anything that church has anything to do with.
Which is sad because Porn and its use is a really interesting topic.

The real issue and challenge here is addiction, I suspect. Much like one can become addicted to cigarettes, or alcohol, heroin, or sugar, if the stimulus produces a pleasant sensation, there is potential for addiction. Sexual arousal and orgasms are pretty much the definition of pleasant sensation, at least for me ( ... )

I think porn, just like anything else, can be addictive. But is it intrinsically horrible? Probably not, even though to a great many porn (and even erotica) is certainly offensive ( ... )
