Throwback

So, apparently it has been over 2.5 years since the last time I typed some sort of thought or original content in livejournal. Not sure if this is good or bad. Contemplating coming back ( Read more... )

How much is TOO much? That's what filters are for... it's your prerogative since it's your journal!

Who will read and why? I would read because I care about what you're up to... plus the curiosity factor... ;-)

I noticed you stopped posting right after I started and added you as a friend. I've always felt responsible for your leaving... like I invaded where you didn't want me... don't know if that's true or not or just a coincidence... you can tell me, I won't care.

Anyways... missed you regardless. :-)

Ahh...well rest assured it wasn't anything to do with you or anyone in particular. At the time when I used LJ more, I was using it for mixed reasons. It was my way of indirectly communicating but in the first person. I used to know that certain people read this, but there was a time that I didn't necessarily want to share some of that with them.

What has changed? Well, I've gone through an interesting time lately and find that one of my flaws was me not sharing as much of me with those close to me. Keeping it all inside didn't help them know where I was coming from.

So, now here I am again. Trying to open up, but hoping not to do it just to "indirectly communicate in the first person"...

Appreciate the comment too. Hope all is well in your family. I've been reading every now and then.

whew! well I'm glad it wasn't just me! ;-)

I like to think of LJ as an actual journal of mine - a way to write down events in my life to remember - good or bad - just an electronic log of what I've been up to with occasional fun/silly things thrown in (memes)... not to mention you get comments/suggestions/sympathy that a paper journal would not give!

Other than that I just consider LJ just one other method of communicating with the people I know out there in the real/cyberworld... the same as I'd consider a phone call, email, what have you. Not a way to avoid those, but just a more convenient (and cheaper in some cases) method of communicating.

Opening up is opening up - whether it is in person or some other way. I would say sharing your feeling in a public journal can only benefit your need/desire to try and open up more. My $.02
