One little hostage situation + shooting in your area and you get a suprising number of texts + calls from people making sure you're not dead as they see the news throughout the day. Weird day yesterday. Didn't help that we have so many computers and TVs at work that everyone was constantly checking all the news as it unfolded

People had made fun of Wong due to his difficulty speaking English, leading him to feel "degraded," his loved ones told police.

Why on earth have the placed 'degraded' in quotation marks? Makes it look like the people who wrote the article thinks that being made fun of doesn't make people feel like shit :(
