Yesterday I got my very first Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs order, and I am in love. Out of the 6 sample scents I ordered, 4 are deliciously awesome, definite keepers that smell fucking HOT on me -- the other two are still nice but not something I'd wear. Winners were Fenris Wolf, Blood Amber, The High Priest Not To Be Described, and Shub-Niggurath: ( Read more... )

I was in LA for a tradeshow, back in January... but I've been home ever since (aside from short roadtrips for tours).

I agree, we should hang. I will give you a holler via the magical texting machine! I miss you ;-)

A: undetermined (but interested in Trying New Things, apparently)

B: have been confirmed for an upcoming appearance in the DC area but the date is still not solidified.

B1: probably will not be able to make it to the party Saturday as I might be doing lights for an event on UPenn campus.

I have a questions about BPAL. HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT FRAGRANCE TO ORDER??? I'm allergic to most perfumes b/c of the chemicals they put in them, so I was excited to read about BPAL in BUST magazine, but you're the first person I know that ever ordered! How did you pick the ones you did?

It's all gracel_ossein's fault.

I tried some of her samples (imps), found a few that smelled great on me, and ordered those... i also looked at the descriptions of the scents i liked, noted what ingredients were used, and tried to order additional scents based on their components or their description.

it's sometimes hit-or-miss, but the cool thing about ordering BPAL stuff is that you can get 6 imps for $20, find a few you love, and then swap the rest with friends...

if you're interested but unsure, you might want to hit up the BPAL forums and just ask for recommendations: i'm sure the folks there would be MORE than happy to pipe up and assist you.

in the meantime, i'll bring some stuff over next week and let you sniff!
