Tonight: kraftwink and I are down at the Wachovia Center in Philly providing some Mac2000's for the Jay-Z show, and hanging with our friend Patrick Dierson, who is LD'ing. Four GrandMA's, including Patrick's "blinged-out" console (oh, the things one can do with white gaff-tape and rhinestones).

He's planning on sending that GrandMA, as-is, to another show after he's finished with it on this run. I would love to have a camera when they pop the lid.

Dude, I want to play with that console. I have for like years now; since I first read about it in LD. The whole concept seemed awesome and it's even sexier with the bling! :)

After seeing how Patrick had his set up, I "get it". It's like the palettes on an Avolites console (dedicated buttons that do things without tying up playback faders), combined with the sexy touchscreen awesomeness of a Hog3 (everything right in front of you without needing to navigate small submenus), with the ability to lay out what you want where you want it like building touch-panels in Light Jockey's LJ-Manager app (the console equivalent of building Logic environments).

Too bad they're so fucking expensive... I'd love to get a GrandMA Ultra-Light.

Yeah, I know. When I get rich, it's on my shopping list... right after I build my own roller rink.

I was looking at the Light, I think. I don't think the Ultra-Light was out when I found out about them. I'd be happy to have just about any of them! ;)
