lizw, yoyoangel, silkyraven and I will be doing the first section of the Green London Way on Sunday, starting from Stratford at 1pm. We're intending to meet at the South East entrance to the station, near the base of the enormous set of steps that they've built to go over the station and to Westfield. Instead of the Lea Valley walk, yoyoangel and I will be walking the first section of the Capital Ring (around 6 miles) this afternoon, starting from South Woolwich Ferry Terminal at around 1:30pm. I realise this is very short notice, but anyone who'd like to join us would be welcome.

As you may have read on lizw's journal, she's got shin splints and has ruled herself out of tomorrow's Lea Valley walk. We're therefore postponing it to Sunday 7 October (around three weeks hence), when she will hopefully have recovered.

Hope anyone who was planning to come can reschedule.

Just a quick reminder that we'll be walking the next section of the Lea Valley Walk, from Ponders End to wherever they stop you at the Olympic Park, on this Monday, 27 August. It's roughly eight miles along the towpath, so fairly level, easy walking, with a possible bailing-out point half-way at Cheshunt. Leyton Orient's fixture list is now out, which means that lizw and I have a couple of Saturdays when we'd rather be sitting in a stadium on Brisbane Road cheering on Russell Slade's Red Army than walking along a river a few miles away.
