First of all, the plan wasn't drafted by Obama but but Nancy Pelosi which people tend to fail to mention. Giving the credit to The Savior Obama when credit isn't due. It's filled with the pet pork projects the Democratic Party have been wishing for over the last 30+ years ( Read more... )

While this all adds up to a SMALL amount in the total stimulus package, I definitely agree that most of it is bullshit and shouldn't fucking be in there.

Even the pork means someone is getting paid. To make the cable boxes office furniture etc. Build the yw. Etc. Stimulus.

OK, even if you believe that, none of the money will even begin to flow to the people for two PLUS years when economists are saying the country will already be pulling itself out of the recession. So instead of "A day late and a dollar short" it's "two years late and $900 Billion wasted."

Believe? What's to belive? It's basic economics. Where do you think these things come from, elves?

And two years is incorrect.

They expect to have it passed within a week, and the money, as with TARP, will start flowing quickly. Unlike with TARP, there will be some kind of accountability. If Bush could get it moving within weeks, I expect a fraction of that from someone competent.
