In order achieve success in their job search, job seekers must target a wide range of Job sites and use all the available resources. Yes, its time consuming. However, dedicating the time and energy will pay off with more and better job leads, more interviews and more job offers!
I've figured out over the years that the white-collar=middle-class(or better) assumption was so built into everyone around me during my childhood that the idea that I could ever be anything other than a white-collar worker never crossed anyone's mind, including my own. Had I known then what I know now, I would have considered becoming a plumber or an electrician and doing this computer stuff on the side for fun. (I don't know that I would have done it, but I would definitely have considered it.)
I think we badly advise the young people of our nation by telling them all to go to college. Some would do a lot better to set their sights on a nice achievable blue-collar job.
