School is going good in many respects so far. I have an A average in both my classes, Calculus 1 and Statistics. The professors for these 2 courses couldn't be more different tho'. In the hard sciences in general, but math and computer science in particular, it's very, very hard to find talented and effective professors. Math majors can make a shit-ton out there on Wall Street, and CS folks, especially when a Ph.D is involved, I'm sure have to stifle their laughter when they see the salary offered at most schools.

And 1st year calculus is notorious for being taught poorly - often by teaching assistants rather than actual professors.

Sounds like your statistics prof is better than mine was, at Berkeley 2 years ago. Urgh. Bad teaching is so demoralizing - glad you are motivated by other things so you can soldier through.
