 Both of my classes this semester are a little more advanced than last semester and I'm in with a fair number of other folks who want to be math teachers. Last week, my Geometry teacher told us going into secondary ed. that we were "really brave" for teaching HS in the public schools. I teach, or actually just tutor technically until I get my license, at an inner-city school. For such a school in Indianapolis, the funding really isn't so bad, but we're still light-years away from being able to give kids math books. And how the hell can you learn math without a book??
