 Both of my classes this semester are a little more advanced than last semester and I'm in with a fair number of other folks who want to be math teachers. Kozol spoke out here at my old high school a few years back (I was in junior college at the time) but I missed him. :-(

I teach, or actually just tutor technically until I get my license, at an inner-city school. For such a school in Indianapolis, the funding really isn't so bad, but we're still light-years away from being able to give kids math books. And how the hell can you learn math without a book??
