I really think it's about time that someone introduced modest mouse to a modest amount of RAT POISON. I really wish I could just find them sitting at a cafe in LA or The Bay Area or something. I'd just walk up to them. They'd be sheepishly looking at me. I stand and just look at them for a minute and scream "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" and walk away...I ( Read more... )

1) how can you hate them?
2) how can you possibly think they'd find you even the least bit intimidating?

Yes, MM needs to die. Or at least stop making music. How these guys got signed bewilders me, and will remain a mystery for all time. Let's get something straight, the guy doesn't sing, he yelps like a defensless animal! One that needs to be put down.

Speaking of bands that need to die, how bout all these new "punk" bands (like Relient K, Yellowcard, and Bloc Party)? I like to refer to them as 3P bands; pussy pop punk (no offense to females). I mean what happened to a thing called talent and musicianship? Everyone go to Buzzplay.com and check out the band Jealousy Curve, it's good shit, especially the first three.

The lesson learned from all of this is that when I eventually get the right elements together, it shouldn't be too hard to sell 100 million albums. Okay, one step at a time, I need a singer first.

you guys...as much as i love you...are idiots. perhaps you dont like modest mouse (and thats fine) but clearly they are doing something right that none of you are. he may yelp like a defenseless animal, but can we all agree that he does a whole lot less whining than you people do?

and i say this with love. truly i do.

Okay, okay, maybe you're right about the whining, but hey, isn't that what a LJ is all about? The one thing I don't understand, which you can help me out with, is what makes them good musically, lyrically, etc... I just think they are marketed well, like most successful things, and would like to hear from a fan (that being you) what you like about them, so that next time I hear them, I'd know what to listen to.

Believe me, this is pure curiosity, not negativity. Music is subjective.
