The command for German-style blackletter (used in various places in topology for constants, among other things) is \mathfrak (or simply \frak).

It adds a certain punctuation to my source code, as you say.

I'm waiting for 3-4 more weeks before I start watching that show. The LaTeX bit is still amusing!

i think there's a package out there so that when you type \homer or \marge, the simpsons' character heads will appear.
