Several things to catch up on...
Epic Vancouver Trip
I had planned to take a trip out west around Canada day by simply cancelling one Friday class and thus having a whole week off. But then I got a TR class in addition to my MWF class. But I still made it work!
Tuesday, June 30
-Left class at 4:00, went home, packed (thanks to Stephen for getting everything ready), Stephen took me to the airport, almost missed the flight but didn't because it was 15 minutes late.
-Kait and Tersigni met me at the airport, went home on the bus (very annoying drunk girls)
Wednesday, July 1
-CANADA DAY PARTY!! Got ready in the morning, it was in the afternoon
-Highlights: "Only Lino would have a terrarium for a plastic snake" - Ian
-Walked to top of hill for super-awesome view!
Thursday, July 2
-Kait went to work, Tersigni left for Victoria
-Hung out with Lino, and we went out to lunch with Josh at awesome butter chicken place
-Walked home from pet and grocery stores with food
-Had a nap while Lino played Final Fantasy (weird dreams...)
-Dinner was yummy chicken
Friday, July 3
-Went to Jenn & Chris' in the morning
-Took Andy to the water-park (sooo cute!)
-Played lots of cribbage
-Went back to Kait & Lino's, just catching a bus up the hill (w00t!)
-Had super-yummy fettucine for dinner
-Played drinking trivial pursuit and Scene it
Saturday, July 4
-Went to the mall (Metrotown) and did some errands
-Saw UP (soooo sad)
-Went to Anton's Pasta Bar for dinner (super-long line even when we got there at 5:30 - and it was still there at 9ish) (also Kait and I shared a meal and we still only ate about 1/3 of it total)
-Took the bus downtown to Ian's place to meet him and Cam
-Apple-tinis! Then out to a club
-Witnessed a fist fight! Then went to a better club
-Left in time to catch the last bus back
Sunday, July 5
-Hung out in the morning, had leftover pasta (still good!) for lunch
-Caught buses to airport just fine, flight back landed early, Stephen took me back to Waterloo!
Epic Camping Trip
Friday, July 24
-Left a little later than we intended, got there after dark
-Set up tent no problem (our tent was the only one that didn't leak at all!)
-Had a little of the remaining dinner, then sleep
Saturday, July 25
-Awesome breakfast omelettes!
-Killer Bunnies in the rain (under the kitchen tent)
-PB set up the tarp so then we had more space to exist, Stephen made fire
-Lunch of sandwiches
-Swimming (it cleared up in the late afternoon) was very cold but nice
-Dinner of yummy corn/potatoes in the fire, followed by smoked pork over the fire
-Night mini-hike to see the stars from the bay... so awesome!
-Marshmallows and schnapps around the fire
Sunday, July 26
-Slept in!
-Awesome breakfast of english muffins with bacon and eggs... OMG so good
-Weather was lovely where we were!
-Swim, and lunch (in some order)
-Played Settlers while a hike occurred (seeing the pictures of the epic climbing potential, I wish I had gone)
-Packed up stuff and left just before dark
Epic Bachelorette Weekend
Friday, July 31
-I took the car and drove to the airport to pick up Kait (originally Catherine as well, but her flight was cancelled so she came later)
-Drove down to the hotel in no time flat (and found it despite forgetting the address)
-Valet parking! Checked in, told room number to various parties
-Ev showed up! Kait used her awesome hair straightener on all of us
-Susie got there! Armed with a tiara identical to the one I brought myself
-Out to dinner at Il Fornello, joined by Jo and Carrie, my cousin Jenn, Danielle, Rachelle, Heather Keachie, Dori and Zoe, and finally Heather MacDonald and Stacey. Whee!
-Dinner was awesome, as was the sangria and champagne, and the waiter
-Back to the hotel (-2 people) where Catherine got there just as we did. 13 of us in the hotel room pre-drinking and getting ready = hilarious. And probably loud. :)
-To the club! Schmooze (or Shmooze...) was its name. Met Wei there, and Jenn Meacoe came later.
-Lots of awesome songs, shout-out from the DJ, lots of people asking if it was my birthday or something (I had a tiara and a fake bouquet of flowers...)
-Walked past the CN tower on the way back to the hotel, and stopped for pizza (at this point it was just me, Susie, Kait, Catherine, Ev, Dori, and Zoe) and then Dori and Zoe went to their car and the rest of us went to sleep in the (2-person) hotel room. Shhh, don't tell. ~ 3 am at this point
Saturday, Aug 1
-I woke up when the sun started to rise and closed the curtains fully, then back to sleep
-We all got up for real at 10 and got ready for brunch
-Checked out, put stuff in the car (but the car stayed with valet parking) and walked to the RichTree market restaurant, where we were joined by Abby and Rachelle.
-Delicious belgian waffle...mmmmm....
-Back to hotel to get car, drove to my parents' house with Susie, Kait, and Catherine, visited the parents briefly
-Catherine drove us back to Waterloo, which was a very good thing, because I certainly didn't have a 0.0 BAC. ;)
-Got ready for Kait's party at our house in Waterloo
-Party!!
... and then since it was a long weekend, there were still 2 days of weekend left!
