Deadlines and paydays, presumably. (Depending on who you're writing for, though, the latter isn't a given.)

Paydays are... in flux. Apparently they've never actually had to handle freelance writing in practice, and exactly when I'm getting paid is uncertain. I'm definitely getting the money some time (out of the immediate contact's own pocket if need be), as soon as they sort out... whatever they're sorting out.
