2 year plan
There are roughly 15 areas of the house to be considered:
Ground level
Basement level
Step 1 (move in): We'll be using bedroom 1 as Usha's, bedroom 2 as ours, the living room as the living room, the raised living room as my office, the basement kitchen as the kitchen, and the death room as the sewing room.
Step 2 (first priorities): We plan to move back to the upstairs kitchen, make a master bedroom out of the inner den, and move the sewing room upstairs.
Step 3 (later): A mix of projects that can be done at that point

- Inner den (inner and outer dens are same room for now)

- Floors
- Rip out carpets in Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, Hallway, Living, Raised Living (done by us)
- Bamboo in Hallway, Raised Living (to be done by contractor, hopefully this week)
- Refinish hardwood in Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2 (in progress by us - see facebook album)
- Carpet in Living (to be done by contractor after we move in, since carpet takes ~10 days to arrive)
- Paint
- Bedroom 1, Living (to be attempted by us - probably some now, some after we move in)
- Get appliances (portable dishwasher, laundry machines) (probably shortly after moving in)

- Rip out existing kitchen (probably move cabinets to garage), sell/give away old electric stove.
- Put in new cabinets, dishwasher, stove. (possibly reusing downstairs cabinets)
- Move kitchen (food, fridge, etc) upstairs.
- Master Bedroom (in what is now Inner Den)
- Rip out flooring
- Seal vent leading to boiler room
- Possibly replace window to bring to code
- Add hot tub (hopefully)
- Put up wall
- Add closets
- Add carpet/flooring
- Move from Bedroom 2 to new master
- Move sewing room from Death room to Bedroom 2
Step 3 (later): A mix of projects that can be done at that point
- Make an office for me out of the now-empty Sewing room (previously Death room)
- Make a baby room out of the now-empty Basement kitchen
- Redo both bathrooms (one at a time, of course) more or less from scratch
- Do something with the boiler room
- Do something with the outer den
- Make a work space in the garage
- Once there's an office, figure out what to do with the now-empty Raised living room
- Outside work (garden, path to front door, etc)
- Replace floors in miscellaneous areas (stairs, entrances, remaining basement)
