Now, I think that thinking about it is hubris -- who am I to question the wisdom of those who built the tradition? But I'm not going to stop thinking. I can't not question everything and everyone. I don't even want to.
Well, I'm glad that ended up as it did. :-} If such be hubris, so be it. It is our job.
Doesn't mean we can't use such wisdom in the meantime. One can question everything and everyone - but it is difficult to do it all at once. :-/
I was not raised in the tradition you were, but this practice seems good to me. I couldn't possibly think of what to forgive you - I have been continually indebted to you for various snippets since running into you. And, if I have offended you, I cherish the forgiveness you offer.
