From 24 hours, a local free daily paper with a somewhat questionable command of the English language:

"(name of victim), clinging to life in hospital after being shot in the Jane-Finch neighbourhood has been named the city's 8th homicide victim of the year."

I hate being shot in the neighborhood.

But really, the problem is that there are only 7 homicide victims. A low number, considering that the year began five months ago during Rosh Hashanah.
