Japanese Hong Kongers???

Overheard this while having dinner at a Japanese eatery earlier.

"So is Hong Kong in Japan?" - a secondary school Aussie chinese boy asking his bunch of friends seated at the table next to mine.

This was the point where I choked on my tempura and went into a coughing fit.

I wonder what they teach in secondary schools here?

Well its expected. They usually leave out Asia Pacific. I'm sure if you ask a few of our sec school kids about Middle East geography, they'd fark it up. Hell even I'd fark it up. Where is Dubai again!??!
