I keep forgetting to check VG cats. I don't play many video games anymore, so a lot of the jokes kind of go over my head. But every once in a while, he does come up with a gem, I agree. I think this is why my interest in science fiction has kind of dwindled over the years. I grew up reading Bradbury, and his fantastic stories set on Mars and Venus. Stories of people going to another planet and attempting to colonize it! Even at the time I knew it was probably not going to happen, at least not on those planets. It's a pity, sometimes, that real science isn't as romantic as fiction. But I always kind of hoped that we would improve, and that there would be technological miracles in the future. Maybe not city-sized spaceships and faster-than-light technology, but something a bit grander than iPods and cell phones that do everything but talk to your friends for you ( ... )

I couldn't have said it better myself.

"Our civilization is nearing it's end and our grandest technological achievement will be the I-pad" This just depresses me.

DS9 isn't on in the states anymore? They're always showing reruns on the Star Trek Four Hours here, along with TNG, Voyager, and that remastered version of the original series where they added CG special effects.

Me too. If you have netflix, occasionally they have the series up there to stream over the internet.

Nah, no netflix. I'll probably buy it one day. It's worth a purchase for me, and downloading that much video over my internet would cost as much as buying it anyways. ^.^;;
