Lame Presentation

We had a presentation at work this week for the students. We have these on occasion, usually about city services or health resources. This one was described as a "financial presentation" to help students manage their finances and (ironically) avoid financial scams, but it turned out to be an hour-long sales pitch! That does sound really lame. I really HATE patronage within academia. We had that exact same thing happen to us in Lyon - the program director had a friend who was an American lawyer practicing in France. Totally incompetent to teach International Business Law, and even teaching us bad/slimy practices, but all because he was well connected, he got the really plum job.

AGGRAVATING!

At least your students have you there to look out for them.
