This was lovely in so many ways! The first scene, with the fireworks, and Martin as an excited little boy learning not to be afraid--drew me in and had me hooked well before the heartbreak of Martin going blind. That section was difficult to take, and the part with Martin's dad was both crushing and redeeming, the way he comforts his son by telling him there's worse out there
