AMD 64 chip, ASUS motherboard (duel channel best) with PCI express slots if you got the cash. Independent Video cards are better (always go Radeon) but if you don't deal in alot of graphics intensive programs ASUS has moderately good integrated. Most of this is relatively cheap and can be done for under $300 if purchased in moderation
Can make a full machine sans box with a kick-ass graphics card for under $500 if I go slightly behind the curve and cannibalize my current machine. Can't use/upgrade my processor because it's a GODDAMNED DELL!
